In READY FOR MEDIA’s third annual series of Christmas Commercials that Connect, we find a common theme: family connectedness. These fast food companies from the US to the UK do it creatively with a popular media: animation!

In the first of our Christmas commercials, Chick-fil-A, portrays a family too busy on their devices to build a snowman with their little girl. She discovers “The Time Shop” located inside the grandfather clock. There, she discovers “lost time” and “time that flies.” And, there is “Together Time.” It’s “the best kind” of time, according to the old man in the shop.
The little girl wishes only that her family could understand. Kindly, the old man gifts her with a time card “1 hour to build the best snowman ever!” Ultimately, this brings the entire family love and joy through time spent together!
Interestingly, this holiday season, everyone can come and create a personalized time card for a loved one. Chick-fil-A has become, “The Time Shop” in real life, gifting families with, “Together Time.”

Our second animated Christmas Commercial that Connects can be found in the UK, courtesy of McDonald’s. This heartwarming advertisement follows a storyline similar to the first. A young girl wants to play reindeer with her older sister who is uninterested in playing pretend. So, the young girl plays with a reindeer friend and feeds him reindeer treats.
Later, the little girl, her dad, reindeer friend and even her older sister go for a drive to grab more treats. They arrive at McDonald’s, purchase the treats, and the media switches to non-animation. Ultimately, the older sister gains a new sense of joy and decides to play reindeer with her little sister. “Us reindeer like McNuggets, too.”
At last, we find that the reindeer friend is really their pet dog and the reindeer treats are really carrot sticks! Similar to Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s is bringing customers in-stores by offering reindeer treats as a substitute for fries with Happy Meals!
These commercials are a fantastic way to bring imagination and fantasy into the real world. Mostly, a great way to bring holiday joy to all. Happy Holidays from READY FOR MEDIA!
